As part of the societal axis of the AELIA Project, a new crowdsourcing platform has been launched, creating an open digital meeting space for citizens, educators and institutions to share ideas, experiences and good practices on sustainability in education and everyday life.
The platform transforms individual contributions into collective knowledge, promoting co-creation and ensuring that not only experts, but also citizens and practitioners, actively shape solutions for sustainable development. This participatory approach reflects AELIA’s multi-stakeholder and whole-institutional vision.
To introduce and activate this space, four national webinars were organised in Greece, Cyprus, Serbia and Romania, engaging more than 170 participants overall. The sessions raised awareness on sustainability challenges, presented the platform’s features and guided participants step by step through registration and initiative submission.
In Greece, the webinar “#GreenSchools: Building Networks for a More Sustainable Future” attracted 100 participants, demonstrating strong interest from the education community. In Cyprus, Serbia and Romania, educators, citizens, civil society representatives and even students actively contributed ideas — from tree planting and clean-up campaigns to community reporting systems and student-led sustainability initiatives.
The webinars served as a gateway to the platform, equipping participants with practical knowledge and the confidence to move from passive listeners to active co-creators of sustainable solutions.
Through this initiative, AELIA strengthens the societal dimension of sustainability, empowering communities to collaborate across borders and turn ideas into action.
