Co-design workshops in Romania
April 21, 2024

CPIP & ISJ Arges executed two Co-Design Workshops in Romania, engaging key educational stakeholders. These included two face-to-face workshops, aimed at broad inclusivity from primary and secondary educators, higher education, vocational training, adult education, business, and the public sector. The workshops’ objective was to collaboratively design a MOOC, focusing on desired learning outcomes, pedagogical approach, and content. Participants were briefed on the MOOC’s framework prior to the workshops, which were conducted with 12 attendees each, ensuring rich, focused discussions.

The co-design workshops exploring the potential of MOOCs in ESD were engaging and interactive events brought together a variety of education professionals and experts. Our aim was to explore the impact and benefits MOOCs can bring to ESD, but also to personal and professional learning and development.

In Romania, CPIP organized one co-design face-to-face workshop with 12 participants in Timisoara on 15th of April 2024 and ISJ Arges organized another co-design face-to-face workshop in Arges with 12 participants on 18th of April 2024.

Participants in the two co-design workshops emphasized the relevance of holistic thinking where ESD helps us understand the interconnections between different aspects of our lives and the world around us, including social, economic, and environmental aspects. The facilitators were the key people from the CPIP and ISJ Arges as official partners of the project, having all the necessary information for running the two co-design workshops.

There were interactive sessions like discussion groups, question and answer sessions etc. This allowed the participants to collaborate, share their ideas and learn from each other. The co-design encouraged participants to continue their involvement in ESD and MOOC and providing them with additional resources to further advance their education in this field. The participants spoke freely on the subject, being willing to promote the AELIA project in their institutions and schools, as part of an active collaboration.

Participant testimonial: “The central advantage of MOOC in ESD nowadays is accessibility. This unique feature brings many benefits, facilitating learning for a wide audience, especially in an important and dynamic field like ESD.”
